Food Events to Pencil In: Taste of the Islands and ClamJam Scheduled

Taste of the Islands Restaurant celebrates its 40th year, during the entire month of November, at participating restaurants where diners can select “Taste” menu items. A portion of the proceeds from purchasing any “Taste” item will directly benefit the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW).  “We are also bringing back CROW Crawls each weekend,” says executive director Alison Charney Hussey. “The Crawls feature a group of our partner restaurants along with CROW animal ambassadors and event sponsors, who will be located outside of the participating restaurants.” Since 1968, CROW has helped nearly 4,000 sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife patients from Southwest Florida. For more information and further details about CROW and Taste of the Islands, visit crowclinic.org.

Also coming up soon is another tasty event you won’t want to miss: the 2022 ClamJam of Southwest Florida Seafood & Music Festival, January 29 (10 am to 7 pm) and January 30 (10 am to 5 pm), in Cape Coral. Guests can enjoy live music, educational seminars such as kayak fishing, and more than 100 craft and food vendors, featuring fresh local seafood such as clam chowder, grouper, and smoked fish. Those who prefer burgers and chicken nuggets will find a delicious selection of those too. This popular family-friendly event also has kid’s activities, including rock climbing, bounce houses, and rides. More information about the event is available at clamjamswfl.com.
