Doggone Shopping: Shopping With Our Four-Legged Friends

Jan 27, 2022 02:05PM ● By ANN MARIE O’PHELAN

Going to a shopping center can be a lot of fun. Who doesn’t love to people-watch, window-shop, and be entertained? Our four-legged friends also like it; they get to socialize, check out new scents, and take a nice walk. Plus, let’s not forget they love the car ride getting there.

A few shopping centers on Sanibel allow for dogs to come along. Olde Sanibel Shoppes on Tarpon Bay Road is one of a handful of charming spots on the island where you can bring your dog. What makes this place perfect for Fido is Island Paws, which offers an extensive selection of pet products, supplies, gifts, and treats, so neither you nor your dog will walk away empty-handed or empty-pawed. Periwinkle PlaceThe Village Shops, and Tahitian Gardens—all on Periwinkle Way—are also conducive to shopping with your dog.
