Get into Gardening with ECHO

Oct 03, 2023 08:00AM ● By Danielle Flood

Get Into Gardening is a kickoff to the winter gardening season in southwest Florida. Visitors spend a beautiful morning on the farm, learning to improve their skills and knowledge about the plants around them. From a tiny porch container garden to acres of fruit trees, there's something to learn at ECHO. See live spinning of ECHO wool into yarn, taste samples of moringa tea and fair trade coffee, attend workshops and demonstrations on Bananas, Grafting, Tree Pruning Essentials, Food Forest Design for SW Florida, Gardening for Florida Newcomers, Building with Bamboo, and Year-round Gardening.

ECHO's global mission is to train and equip those serving small-scale farmers worldwide and in our communities. Through Regional Impact Centers in Thailand, Tanzania, Burkina Faso, and the United States, ECHO teams identify, test, and share sustainable gardening techniques to empower families to raise themselves from hunger and poverty. Tours of the Global Farm are offered year-round; visit echonet.org/go for more information.

Plan your visit:
