The Fort Myers Track Club, in partnership with the Edison and Ford Winter Estates is proud to host the 45th The Turkey Trot 5k walk/run. This year’s event will be held on Thursday, November 28, with the first race starting at 7 am at the Estates. The Tot Trot begins at approximately 8:45 am.

“The Turkey Trot has become a tradition for locals, and we are happy to be a part of an event that brings people together,” explains Lisa Wilson, Marketing and Public Relations Director at the Estates. The race kicks off the holiday season and leads into the Estates’ 49th Annual Holiday Nights celebration, which starts the day after Thanksgiving. The celebration offers visitors a chance to walk through the estates and enjoy thousands of lights and hundreds of historic decorations. And enjoy the Museum Store and Garden Shoppe for great gifts. The Holiday Nights event takes place from November 29 to December 23 and December 26, 2024, through January 5, 2025, from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

The Turkey Trot starts and finishes at the Estates, runs through the adjacent neighborhood, and is all for a good cause. “The Fort Myers Track Club has been a great fundraising partner, and we look forward to working with them each year,” adds Wilson. 

While everyone is encouraged to come run or walk there is a virtual option that can be viewed. Awards are given in various divisions, such as 5K Run Winners Overall, 5k Run Age Categories, Oldest Participants, and more. 

Pre-registration is required at runsignup.com/race/FL/FortMyers/FMTCTurkeyTrot5K (No registrations will be accepted on the day of the race. Participants may pick up race packets on the morning of the race, starting at 6 am.)

The non-profit Fort Myers Track Club is a 501(c)(3) organization. There are no paid employees. Each year, the club raises around $300,000 to help local charities.
