It’s that time of year again when the weather gets hot, and everyone is looking for a way to cool off. Sunsplash Family Waterpark is one great option, even if you have a pool in your backyard!

Sunsplash opened again for the season on March 13, and so far, they’re making a big splash with sensational slides, rousing rides, and a Main Stream River Tube Ride for those who want to kick back. The ride is a quarter mile long and passes by Lake Kennedy and other park attractions. Afterwards, one can relax under the cabanas and cool off again with a refreshing drink.
For those who want to push it to the extreme, there are plenty of opportunities to do so—such as on the X-celerator, one of the park’s steepest, fastest, and most extreme attractions. This super speed slide drops guests down a whopping five stories of open chute at speeds up to 40 feet per second and 30 mph. Or thrill-seekers can check out the ThunderBump, a 264-foot-long slide that features several steep bumps that promise the feeling of going airborne. Don’t worry, there’s something for the young ones. They can stay occupied at the Pirates Cove with slides, blasters, gushers, and blasters, while all ages can enjoy the Paradise Cove, 160,00 gallons of water wave pool with seven unique wave patterns from ripples to high energy swells that change every 15 minutes.
“Come enjoy the water fun this summer!” says Administrative Manager and Activities Director Hollie Reed.

On-site, there are also dining options, such as burgers and fries, sweet treats like frozen cookie dough, and refreshing drinks, along with HTeaO World Famous Iced Tea, all of which can be enjoyed under the shade. Check the website for events, such as Dive-In Movies on a gigantic 16-foot-wide movie screen, where you can grab a tube and float while checking out the on-screen action, and special holiday events throughout the season. Silver and Gold Season Passes are available for purchase online or at the ticket booth, as are other Waterpark tickets.
Plan Your Visit: Sunsplash Family Waterpark, 500 W Lake Kennedy Dr., Cape Coral, 239-574-0558.
