Empty Bowls Fundraiser for Community Cooperative

Soup Cook-off

Community Cooperative announces the return of the Empty Bowls fundraiser, presented by FineMark National Bank & Trust, to take place on Saturday, April 9, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Centennial Park in Fort Myers. Sanibel Pottery will be collaborating with this year’s event to raise hunger awareness through art. One-of-a kind handcrafted ceramic bowls made by Lee County school children and artisans will be available for purchase at the event as a reminder of those who go hungry right here in Lee County. This year’s event will feature: • A soup cook-off and soup sampling from local favorite restaurants • Vendor area, including local artisans • Silent auctions • Food trucks • Family friendly activities • Dance and music performances by local schools and organizations, and more. The event supports Community Cooperative’s emergency food programs that include Sam’s Community Café & Kitchen, Community Market and Mobile Food Pantries. Admission is free for kids and $10 for adults 18 years and older, including a ceramic bowl while supplies last and soup tasting. For information, visit CommunityCooperative.com.
