59 Mintues: “Understanding Eldercaring Coordination”
Avow’s 59 Minute Series offers occasional information sessions with experts for the community in a free lunch and learn format about topics relating to hospice care, estate planning, end of life, and grief.
As part of Avow's 59 Minute Series Carolyn Moore, who has more than 20 years of management experience in workers’ compensation and healthcare, as well as serving as an ombudsman for the Department of Elder Affairs and as board chair of the Florida Board of Nursing Home Administrators, will present “Understanding Eldercaring Coordination.” The session is designed for attorneys, healthcare professionals, guardians, case managers, and family members on the Eldercaring Coordination Program available to resolve family conflict, with the elderly person being the focus of the discussion. The session will define eldercaring coordination, explain the difference between elder mediation and eldercaring, the role and qualifications of the eldercaring coordinator, issues for an appropriate referral for coordination, ethical issues and how eldercaring coordination fees are paid. Two continuing education units (CEU) are available to nursing home and assisted living facility administrators for $10 per certificate. Lunch is free, but reservations are required.
