Annual tree lighting and holiday event

The Lee County Black History Society hosts the 10th Holiday in the Park at Roberto Clemente Park in Fort Myers from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Dec. 3. With the theme “Celebrating African American Inventors at Christmas,’ the Soul Santa & Elves Fire Truck Parade line up starts at 3:30 p.m., with the tree lighting at 6 p.m. The free event for the community includes food and music, the Soul Santa Parade, community tree lighting, tours of the Williams Academy Museum with the African American inventor’s exhibit, bounce houses and more. On Friday, Dec. 9 from 6 to 10 p.m., the annual Movie in the Park will screen “Jingle Jangle,” a 2020 musical fantasy film where an imaginary world comes to life in a holiday tale of an eccentric toymaker, his adventurous granddaughter and a magical invention that can change their lives forever.
