Dave Horton, creator of Hortoons, reveals the 9th Annual 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H. logo depicting his loveable animal characters in a 'The Tortoise and the Hare' plot. Horton has created the previous seven race logos – all marked with his wit.

“The idea was inspired by Maggie Goldsmith, who helps out at F.I.S.H.,” says Horton. “She suggested I try something with the tortoise and hare fable, so I drew three turtles in the lead, passing a rabbit, and an alligator coming up from the rear. The turtles are aware that the alligator is behind them and are sprinting. But, the rabbit hasn't noticed the alligator yet and is shocked the turtles are beating him.”

The Hortoon-style race logo will appear on the font of t-shirts worn by runners, race posters, as well as make an appearance in each announcement published for qualifying race sponsors.
